Mathematical & Physical Biosciences
A number of researchers and postdoctoral fellows who specialise in this field have been appointed and courses and conferences in this area are held each year. Courses in biomathematics and bio-informatics are included as part of the AIMS Master’s in Mathematical Sciences. AIMS South Africa also offers a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics with a focus in Biomathematics for South African students in partnership with Stellenbosch University. The Research Centre collaborates closely with the South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (SACEMA) and the Centre for Research in Computational and Applied Mechanics (CERECAM).
