AIMS and Astrophysics and Cosmology

The annual Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD) at AIMS has often included courses in Astrophysics and Cosmology. AIMS also maintains close ties with

• the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in Cape Town
• the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) in Sutherland
• the National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme (NASSP), hosted at the University of Cape Town
• South Africa's bid to host the Square Kilometer Array (SKA)
• the Hermanus Magnetic Observatory (HMO)

In addition the AIMS Research Centre is building focus on these areas.
