Dimbinaina Ralaivaosaona was born in Madagascar in 1984. Having completed his 'Maîtrise en mathématiques' from the University of Antananarivo, he joined AIMS-South Africa in 2006 and completed the Postgraduate Diploma in June 2007. He then obtained The Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics (or Part III) from Cambridge University in June 2008. In March 2012, Naina obtained his PhD degree from Stellenbosch University. Then he was again involved with AIMS: as a tutor for 2011-2012, as a postdoctoral researcher 2012-2013 working with Professor Jeff Sanders, who is the current academic director. Naina is currently working as a lecturer at the Mathematical Sciences Department at Stellenbosch University. His main area of research is probabilistic and additive combinatorics. "I must say that AIMS has not only given me the opportunity to continue with my studies but most importantly it had helped me to grow up as a scientist. I have been a student, a tutor, a lecturer and a researcher and I can say AIMS offers an excellent environment for research; I am privileged to have been a part of it."
